Air Essentials

The French duo of Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoît Dunckel is known for their meticulously produced, exquisitely melodic electronica. Inspired by first-generation European synth greats like Jean Michel Jarre and Vangelis, the duo formed in 1995 at architectural school in Versailles. Air's first album, Moon Safari, was an instant international success, spurred by the hit single "Sexy Boy." A string of critically-acclaimed albums followed, including Talkie Walkie and Pocket Symphony. Air also provided the score to Sofia Coppola's debut film, The Virgin Suicides.
