Agnostic Front Essentials

Formed in 1980, Agnostic Front quickly became the leader of the New York hardcore scene, a community whose denizens put a muscular, aggressive spin on the punk-offshoot genre. Accordingly, the band—anchored by two longtime members, rapid-fire vocalist Roger Miret and founding guitarist Vinnie Stigma—pound out music that often feels like a bruising street fight playing out in the form of brawling guitar riffs, brawny gang vocals and hefty drumming. Across the decades, Agnostic Front have also embraced thrash metal’s vicious riffs and punishing tempos, which has only cemented the band’s status as ferocious crossover legends.
