If proof were needed of the thriving state of jazz in Türkiye, look no further than the stacked lineup for the 31st Akbank Jazz Festival. The broad, diverse scope of the scene is represented—taking in Güç Başar Gülle’s classy art-jazz shuffle as well as Arto Tunçboyacıyan’s traditional folk stylings. They’re joined by the likes of Kaan Çelen and Nilüfer Verdi for October 2021’s jazz celebration.
