Prestige Records

Prestige Records is one of the most revered and historically significant jazz labels in the world. Founded in 1949, Prestige (originally called New Jazz) was at the cutting edge of modern jazz, helping to usher in the eras of bop, hard-bop, and soul jazz in the ’50s, and free jazz and fusion in the ’60s.
