About Zimbabwe

Argentinean seven-piece band Zimbabwe was formed in 1994 by ex-Zimbabwe reggae band percussionist Dario Ungaro and singer/guitarist Marcelo Delgado, after releasing a self-titled record in 1987 and Caminando en el Fuego in 1989. The new band's debut album was called Cuestión de Honor, achieving platinum status in Argentina, while its song "Traición a la Mejicana" was climbing on local charts. After a South American tour, Zimbabwe produced two videos in Venezuela, directed by Dudú Scuderi, and a third one for "Loco de Atar," directed by Jorge Rosales in Argentina. Cuestión de Honor was awarded by A.C.E. for Best Pop Record of the Year. Soon after issuing an EP called Seguir en la Ruta, GIT's Pablo Guyot produced Zimbabwe's A.D.N., which was released in 1996. ~ Drago Bonacichø
