Los Angeles-based Xuitcasecity is an electronic pop, hip-hop, and R&B duo featuring singer Mike Gomes and rapper Cam Young. They initially grabbed ears with their 2017 EP, INDXGO, and the track "Bout You," which cracked the the top 40 of Billboard's Rhythmic Songs chart. Formed in 2012, Xuitcasecity came together after bandmates Mike Gomes and Cam Young connected online. Born in Rhode Island, Gomes initially had his sights on playing professional basketball before discovering the guitar. Conversely, Young grew up listening to hip-hop, and discovered electronic music in high school, during which time he also recorded three independent albums. After meeting via social media, they began sending tracks back and forth, and quickly realized they had potential as a duo. They relocated to Tampa, where they named themselves after "suit case city," a neighborhood just south of the University of South Florida known for its large transient population. In 2017, they issued their debut EP, INDXGO, showcasing their cross-pollinated brand of electronic music. Included was the the track "Bout You," which caught attention online and eventually peaked at number 36 on Billboard's Rhythmic Songs chart. Live and festival appearances followed, including opening spots for the Chainsmokers, G-Eazy, and Cheat Codes. They also made a high-profile appearance at Electric Zoo in 2018. Xuitcasecity eventually moved again, basing themselves in Los Angeles. In 2019, they issued their sophomore EP, CXTY NIGHTS, featuring the single "Lead Me On." ~ Matt Collar
