In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. When I was 17, I recorded my first album with my best friend. The only person I shared it with was my then-boyfriend who told me plainly that he hated it. From that day, I committed to becoming the best musician I could be, just to spite him. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Jewel, 0304 Madonna, American Life The Raveonettes, Pe'ahi I clearly have a thing for flops. I love albums where risks are taken and unique perspectives are shared. These albums are not easily loved or understood at first, and they have taught me not to worry about my music being immediately accessible. Tell us why you chose this song. “I Won't Go” I wrote this song for my little sister who has struggled with suicidal ideation throughout her life. So many songs about suicide are overly somber or try too hard to be inspirational. Instead, I wanted to do something encouraging in a playful way. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? The wildest moment was when I got into a Lyft and the driver was playing one of my songs. I was stunned into silence but my friend excitedly said to the driver, "do you know you've got Xico Peligroso right here??" Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? The biggest thing left on my bucket list is to tour as a supporting act for a band that I love. I would also love to film a proper music video.
