About Victor Simonelli

b. USA. Brooklyn, New York City-based producer of the early 90s who learnt his craft at the knee of Arthur Baker, working in his Shakedown Studio. After editing work on tracks by Al Jarreau and David Bowie, he joined Lenny Dee to establish Brooklyn Street Essentials, a remix team. He has worked widely in this territory ever since. His own nom de plumes included Groove Committee (cutting ‘Dirty Games’ for Nu Groove), Solution, Ebony Soul and the Street Players. Throughout he has maintained his belief in working with fully-fledged songs rather than simply strong rhythmic tracks. He also recorded with Tommy Musto as part of Colourblind.
