About Vera Beths

Vera Beths is a Dutch violinist associated with the Smithsonian Chamber Players and who has worked extensively with Reinbert de Leeuw. She is an outstanding interpreter of both 20th century literarture and of Baroque and Classical works. Beths has had music written specifically for her by such composers as Louis Andreissen. She also has had the pleasure of playing, with de Leeuw, the first two George Antheil violin sonatas in the company of 93-year-old violinist Olga Rudge. Rudge had given these works their original premieres, with the composer as accompanist, in Paris in 1923.
