About Ty Alexander Huynh

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My earliest musical memory is bedtime as a young boy. My mother would turn on the radio for me to sleep by when she tucked me in. I don't remember the genre but through the years I remember listening to pop and country music the most as a kid. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Audra McDonald, Carrie Underwood, David Chase, Oscar Hammerstein II, Richard Rodgers, Rodgers & Hammerstein, The Sound of Music (Music from the 2013 NBC Television Event) Bobby Caldwell, Come Rain or Come Shine Celtic Woman, Celtic Woman I've been a long-time Theatric Musical & Sinatra-era singing fan but little did I know I'd find Celtic Woman's singing and Irish trad music make a big impact on my own work. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Rainbird (Sleepy Mix)” I love Rainbird because of its birdsong-like melodies share a spirit of hope and survival through hardships that reflect what we go through in life. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Being inspired as a clumsy, non-musical Christian years ago, I started guitar, singing, and other instruments. The first moments I was able to sing and play the guitar at the same time is a delightful memory. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Since the earliest days of 3D computer graphics, I've been fascinated by the art form and wanted to create a Pixar/Disney style movie. Making a 3D animated musical feature would fill up a few buckets on the bucket list.
