Twisted Wires

Houston, Texas-based Twisted Wires create suspenseful, cinematic darkwave and slow-burning disco, typically including hazy guitars, pulsating arpeggios, and deep, dusky vocals. The project's mastermind is Richard Durham, a singer and guitarist who has also worked with Indian Jewelry and Light Asylum. Twisted Wires made their debut with the beguiling 2009 single "One Night at the Raw Deal," released by Johnny Jewel's lauded Italians Do It Better imprint. The project was next heard from in 2013, when "Half Lives" appeared on IDIB's After Dark 2 compilation. Retitled "Struck Twice," the song was released as a single in 2016, along with an additional song called "0000." The CD compilation Half Lives, including the previously unreleased track "Man of Steel," appeared in 2017, as Twisted Wires worked on their debut album. ~ Paul Simpson
