About Trumans Water

Trumans Water began as a noise-rock trio in San Diego, California, heavily influenced by such past experimentalists as Sonic Youth, Captain Beefheart, and Sun Ra. After 1994's GODSPEED THE PUNCHLINE, the original lineup splintered when Glen Galloway left to form the experimental Christian music act Soul-Junk. Remaining members Kirk and Kevin Branstetter moved to Portland, Oregon and relaunched Trumans Water as an ever-shifting proposition featuring numerous guest appearances by friends like Thurston Moore and Chan Marshall. In either configuration, they were a prolific band with numerous CD, 7" vinyl, and cassette-only releases.
