Troy Taroy

Singer/songwriter/director Troy Taroy doesn't have a girlfriend because he's "D.I.Y. all the way." The ironic, literate, and nerd-fun Taroy served time in some of Los Angeles' premier never-heard-of-thems (the Dining Room Set, Chika Chika, Cody ChesnuTT, and the L.A. Times) before striking out on his own in 2003. It was that year he filmed and released his "neo-realist musical" Vortex Follies and rounded up Ryan Wood (guitar, vocals), Lawn Boigah (bass, vocals), and Paul Carlson (drums) for his own band. The indie rocking and mocking Employee of the Month kicked off Taroy's solo act in 2004. ~ David Jeffries
