About The Very Girls

Formed in the southern portion of the Netherlands, the Very Girls recorded their self-titled debut album in 1997. The duo of Aggie de Kruijf and Ankie Keultjes (better known as Aggie and Ankie) moved to America shortly thereafter and became a staple on the Houston folk music scene. Having been compared to the Roches, Nanci Griffith, and Emmylou Harris, the duo's sweet harmonies have attracted praise on both sides of the Atlantic. In 2002, the group released its second album, Elsewhere Bound. Although Dutch, the Very Girls perform in English. The Very Girls have performed at various folk festivals and fairs, including Houston's Anderson Fair. ~ Jason MacNeil
