In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Seeing Prince booed off the sedate while opening for the Rolling Stones in 1981. Then watching concert promoter, Bill Graham, come on stage and berate 100,000 people for booing Prince off stage. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Joan Armatrading, Whatever's For Us (2015 Remaster) Junior Wells' Chicago Blues Band, Hoodoo Man Blues The Who, Quadrophenia (Remastered) Remastered The Who's Pete Townshend made me want be a songwriter. Junior Wells made me want to play blues harp. Joan Armatrading made me want to use my voice to connect with my ancestors. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Sitting at Solomon Burke's feet in Buddy Miller's Nashville kitchen while he sang my song, "Vicious Circle." Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Opening for Gary Clark Jr. on tour, playing harp on a Rhiannon Giddens recording, and singing with The Wood Brothers.
