A talent-stocked, old-school Swedish death metal collective featuring members of At the Gates, the Haunted, Skitsystem, Tormented, Disfear, and God Macabre, the Lurking Fear was founded in 2016 in Gothenburg. Drawing inspiration from extreme metal legends like Autopsy, Slayer, Bathory, and Possessed, the quintet released their debut long-player, Out of the Voiceless Grave, via Century Media in 2017. The band adopted a more unified, dynamic, and intense style on their Lovecraft-inspired sophomore effort, 2021's uncompromising Death, Madness, Horror, Decay.
