About The Livin' End
This Livin' End is not to be confused with the Burkburnett, TX, band of the same name from the later '60s, who cut singles on the Soft label. Based in West Texas, the Abilene Livin' End was an offshoot of a group called the Coachmen, formed by guitarist Wayland Huey after his old band broke up in 1964. They cut enough material for an album and then some, none of which was released during the group's own four years of activity involving a lot of it covers ("Get Off of My Cloud," "Baby Please Don't Go" etc.) and all of it very enthusiastic, if not always carrying the original tunes terribly well. ~ Bruce Eder
