In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Singing The Police's "Walking on the Moon" with my mum, when I about 5. She would pretend to make the huge moonman strides across the room, and I would copy her. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Dinosaur Jr., You're Living All Over Me (Bonus Track Version) Remastered PJ Harvey, Is This Desire? Portishead, Portishead Portishead show that with real care you can make innovative music with simple core elements. The PJ album taught me how to blend "real" and "synthetic" parts, making both equally severe. Dinosaur annihilates me in broken sound, furious, yet feeble. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Drawerings” From an EP about songs I loved when I was 17: this one was Dinosaur Jr. I'd listen to painfully cutting distorted guitar while hung-over, looping even though it hurt my head. My tempo-building tension and piercing guiter try to have the same effect. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I set up and played in several annual one day mini-festivals ("The TIny Festival of Huge Proportions"), where bands in the community I lived in then (Boston, MA) could raised money for music therapy programmes at the cancer centre where I worked. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Learn how to produce an album of music about voids: music that can represent empty spaces like deep space or the deep ocean. Making music that gives a sense of huge space, but doesn't fill that space, is a real long-term challenge!
