About The Helicopter of The Holy Ghost

Canterbury-based pop/rock band the Helicopter of the Holy Ghost is something of a supergroup who got together to perform some lost demos written by Billy Reeves in the '90s. Reeves had signed to Sony with the band Yours in 2000, but before they could take off, he was involved in a serious car crash that put him in a coma, leaving him with amnesia. Almost two decades later, in 2017, his brother was clearing out some old boxes when he found two mini-discs recovered from the crash; they contained several demos written by Reeves, who put together a band to fully realize the tracks, giving birth to the Helicopter of the Holy Ghost. Their debut album, 2021's Afters, was co-produced by Richard Archer (Hard-Fi) and featured Simon Raymonde (the Cocteau Twins) and Thomas Anderson (Gazpacho).
