The Defectors

About The Defectors

Originally forming under the moniker of Thee Fuzz Arts in 1997, Martin Budde (drums/organ), Nikolaj Grummesgaard (guitar/vocals) and Torben Skovgaard (bass) reflected towards the raw sophistication of 60s rock that the Sonics, The Kinks and The Wailers perfected. Eventually after recruiting Jonas Jørgensen (drums) and Mort Harder (vocals), the quintet continued their musical nostalgia towards their native Denmark under the name of The Persuaders. But with that name already taken, they band went under The Defectors in 1998 after Mik Stegger took over on guitar. The following year, ESP Recordings released The Defectors first full-length Let Me... ~ Mike DaRonco
