About The Aztecs
Formed in Sydney, Australia in 1964, the Aztecs started out as a '60s beat group before evolving into the loudest blues-rock band in Australia in the 1970s. They scored an Australian number one hit in 1964 with a frantic cover of Leiber And Stoller’s "Poison Ivy," and a string of hits followed before they re-emerged in 1968 with their new heavy-blues sound. The Aztecs enjoyed their biggest hit in 1972 with the Australian top five single "Most People I Know (Think That I’m Crazy)," before disbanding at the start of 1975.
