In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. The first time I got to play around on a real drum set, I immediately knew I wanted spend time banging on one every day. I remember I practiced on the one at my school every day until the annual concert, where I covered Weezer songs with my friends. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Daft Punk, Discovery KAYTRANADA, 99.9% The Avalanches, Since I Left You Discovery - A perfect album which changed electronic and dance music forever. 99.9% - This album redefined to me what dance music could be. A magnum opus. Since I left You - The most inspiring use of sampling ever - The avalanches used 3000 samples. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Face to Face” Face to Face (a collaboration with Todd Edwards) is probably my favorite song of all time. The groove is incredibly funky and the use of samples is incredible. Each of the musical shouts at the end of a phrase gives you a glimpse into another world. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Playing my first packed club show in SF for Halloween was unforgettable. I dropped some unreleased songs and all my friends were dancing like crazy. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I hope to one day play a live show with a bunch of synthesizers like Simian Mobile Disco.
