Strawberry

A collective of underground artists and musicians, Strawberry became one of Chicago's primary outlets for experimental music after the turn of the century. As far back as 1992, Scott Gibbons and Jonathan Joe had been collaborating on experiments that would eventually end up on the album. But it wasn't until the two got serious about it in 1999 and drafted in several of their nomadic contemporaries that the group began taking shape. Offering a highly unusual rock n' roll sound that offered just about any genre imaginable, Strawberry released their eponymous debut in the summer of 2002. ~ Bradley Torreano
