About Stone Sour
Featuring Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor and guitarist Jim Root, the hard rock outfit Stone Sour emerged as part of the post-grunge movement of the ’90s. ∙ Stone Sour’s self-titled 2002 debut earned the band a pair of Grammy nominations for the singles “Get Inside” and “Inhale.” ∙ The Platinum-certified Come What(ever) May included their signature song, “Through Glass,” which spent almost two months at No. 1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart. ∙ “Gone Sovereign” and “Absolute Zero,” from 2012’s chart-topping House of Gold & Bones, Pt. 1, landed on Loudwire’s list of the 66 Best Hard Rock Songs of the 21st Century. ∙ Hydrograd, their last release before announcing an indefinite hiatus, became the band’s fifth album in a row to hit the Top 10 of the Billboard 200. ∙ In 2018, Taylor joined such hard rock icons as Ozzy Osbourne and AC/DC’s Angus Young in receiving Kerrang!’s prestigious Legend Award. ∙ Taylor is the author of several nonfiction books, including The New York Times bestseller Seven Deadly Sins: Settling the Argument Between Born Bad and Damaged Good.
