About Stephane Le Gouvello

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Supertramp album "Crime of the century" really got my attention as a songwriter and the score from "Edward scissorhands" by Danny Elfmann is the one that made me decide to be a composer for film. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Miles Davis, Miles Ahead Oliver Nelson, The Blues And The Abstract Truth Prince, Sign O' The Times The emotion that those albums provide is really deep to me. I love the musicality and the sound they've got. I could have chosen "Once upon a time in the west" by Ennio Morricone or "Vertigo" by Bernard Herrmann as well but in another genre. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “By the Book” Here is good example of the mix between a theme that could be a song or a film score. The atmosphere is dark but something calls from outside. Sound-wise it belongs to my sound palette that I really like. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I remember when I got my first movie to score "Le village des ombres" a genre movie with a low budget and high expectations from the director. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Since I was a kid I loved composing music. First it was for the bands I played with and then it became music for film. I still play in concert with friends and it brings me good balance with the lonely studio time.
