Seven Sisters of Sleep

About Seven Sisters of Sleep

A shape-shifting, Southern California-based extreme metal unit that combines elements of doom, d-beat, death metal, grindcore, and black metal, Seven Sisters of Sleep was formed in 2009 from members of Tafkata and the Arm & Sword of a Bastard God. The group, which features the talents of Tim McAlary (vocals), Brock Elmore (guitar), Eddie Bermudez (guitar), Chip Blake (bass), and Brian Thomas (drums), issued their eponymous full-length debut in 2011 via Baltimore's A389 Recordings. A series of splits, including an LP with Children of God, an EP with Ilsa, and a 10" with Shaman's Owl, helped to further refine the band's sound and expand their fan base. Opium Morals, the band's sophomore studio long player, dropped in 2013, and in 2015, they inked a deal with Relapse and issued their third LP, Stray Hags. ~ James Christopher Monger
