About Rich Staats

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I grew up in a farming family with around 40 first and second cousins. We would often sing songs while working in the fields and later around the fire at night. My childhood was filled with old spirituals and catchy folk tunes. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Rich Staats, Ancient Aires and Marches Rich Staats, Day of the Mantid Rich Staats, Free at Last: Waiting for Armin Day of the Mantid was our first, commercial album. We even sold CDs for it, and the album was part of a highly successful Kick Starter. Ancient Aires and Marches was a labor of love. Free at Last was the first edited and mastered as a pop, dance work Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Heroic Journey” This was a song composed as a theme song for one of my role-playing parties. It was fun to write and produce. There is an emotional journey that takes place over the course of the song, and you can feel the emotion shift with the song's story. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Seeing some of the songs become very popular in places on the opposite side of the globe. Some of the recent Fancy Dance song variations were hits in India and Pakistan, and GaBB was popular in Japan and Korea. It is fun to spread good feelings. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I would absolutely love to see an evening of Dr G & the Range Shadow music performed by a Classical Orchestra in a place like Boston, Vienna, or London. There are more than 30 Classical songs to choose from. Check out the album, "A Time to Go"
