About Reginald Connelly

Reginald Connelly rapid rise to songwriting fame (in tandem with Jimmy Campbell) began in 1925 when they collaborated with bandleader Hal Swain on the song "Show Me The Way To Go Home." When Lawrence Wright turned it down, they decided to publish it themselves, and it became a smash hit both in Britain and America. During the late-'20s, they wrote the enormously popular numbers, "The More We Are Together," "On A Street Of Chinese Lanterns," and "If I Had You." Campbell Connelly & Co. Limited swiftly became one of Britain’s leading music publishers. During the next decade, they produced several enduring standards, including "Falling In Love Again," "Goodnight, Sweetheart," and "Try A Little Tenderness."
