In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. The first time I ever remember deeply connecting to a solo piano piece, was when I first learned Debussy’s Sarabande. The harmony was so beautiful and powerful. My ear loved the consonance and dissonance involved in the creation of each chord. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Bill Evans, Conversations with Myself (Expanded Edition) D'Angelo, Voodoo Young Gun Silver Fox, Ticket to Shangri-La Each of these records have so many layers of melody, harmony, and rhythm that I can listen again and again and hear new elements spring to life. Tell us why you chose this song. “Time Lapse” Time Lapse is a melodic and textural impression of the art of time lapse photography, particularly the photography of flowers in bloom. There is a rippling undercurrent of energy and an ascending melodic line that builds to the bloom of the flower. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? After a few years of carefully writing, practicing, and then recording my first record, seeing those pieces selected for editorial playlists was a huge thrill. They had only been shared with my community, and now they are traveling across the world. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? So many things! I would love to tour internationally. I would love to write and record a string quartet. And maybe most important of all, I just want to sit down and write the next piece that the muse decides to bring to my attention.
