In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Going to my first punk show in a cinderblock building in the middle of a corn field while in high school kicked off my interest in playing music, and doing it DIY, outside the mainstream music industry. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? DEVO, Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo! Naked Raygun, Throb Throb The Clash, Give 'Em Enough Rope (Remastered) These three records are good examples of the range of styles that Red Kate is influenced by, both politically and musically. Tell us why you chose this song. “Shut It Down” This is a protest song that speaks to the feelings of the masses across the globe right now. Nothing is working for the working class anymore and we hope this song provides some inspiration for those fighting for a better world What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Whenever we play a DIY show and kids go crazy is a memorable moment. Smaller towns are usually the best, like Hays, KS, or Ames, IA, where we don't expect much going in but people appreciate that you played their town. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Touring Europe is our main goal as a band at this point. We would prefer to do it DIY but multiple attempts to book a complete tour have not worked out.
