About Raymond Williams

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My earliest musical memory is hearing "Pride and Joy" by Stevie Ray Vaughan when I was seven or so. I had no understanding of music (and still don't to be honest) or the blues, but I knew what I heard was bigger than me, even to a seven year old. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Bob Dylan, Blood On The Tracks Neil Young, Harvest Paul Simon, Graceland (25th Anniversary Deluxe Edition) I was given "Harvest" and "Blood On The Tracks" when I entered junior high and literally wore the CDs out from listening and studying every track. "Graceland" was a later addition that redefined my understanding of what was musically possible. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “September 1864” This song is about someone I met during college that I knew very little about, but felt like I needed to remember, so I wrote a story around what I knew. It is a long and layered song lyrically, but one that I enjoyed writing.
