Protoje

Jamaican reggae artist Protoje was born into a musical family—his mom is chart-topping reggae artist Lorna Bennett, and his dad, Mike Ollivierre, is a calypso king. ∙ Protoje’s 2013 song “Kingston Be Wise”—a redo of Ini Kamoze’s “England Be Nice”—was featured on a radio station in the video game Grand Theft Auto V. ∙ Two of his albums have reached No. 1 on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart, including 2015’s Ancient Future. ∙ A Matter of Time, his 2018 chart-topping full-length, received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Reggae Album. ∙ He’s collaborated on music with Chronixx (a remix of Alicia Keys’ “Underdog”), Rebelution (“Inhale Exhale”), Wiz Khalifa (“A Vibe”), and Tribal Seeds (“Gunsmoke”).
