About Polly Scattergood

Although Polly Scattergood is a graduate of the BRIT School, the same London performing arts academy that counts Amy Winehouse and Adele among its more famous alumni, the Essex-born singer-songwriter is not an R&B singer. Her quirky modern take on singer-songwriter folk-rock was influenced by the likes of Suzanne Vega and Kate Bush. After graduation, Scattergood signed with the legendary indie label Mute Records and began working with producer Simon Fisher Turner, a veteran of the British experimental rock scene. After nearly four years' worth of singles beginning with 2005's "Glory Hallelujah," Scattergood released her self-titled debut in spring 2009.
