About Pat Dewar

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Music in my house growing up in the 60's and 70's went from Mom's show music through my sisters' Mama's & the Papa's to my oldest brothers' Frank Zappa and Captain Beefheart. It was pretty easy sailing from there to find my own style and tastes. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Pat Dewar, Shelter In Place (And other assorted lockdown songs) Robert Palmer, 20th Century Masters - The Millennium Collection: The Best of Robert Palmer The Replacements, The Best of the Replacements: Don't You Know Who I Think I Was? Smooth funk, coarse grunge, my stuff. Its funny - you take people's influences and try to trace their musical outcomes, but it just doesn't work that way. Shelter In Place opens with the same chord progression as "My Funny Valentine". Who knew? Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Racing To the Bottom (feat. Ted Schadler)” I build guitars (and basses) as my other passion. This one was driven by having produced one for my friend and musical colleague, Ted Schadler, and one for myself. Dysfunctional political parties provided the perfect, bottom feeding subject matter.
