b. Amelia Pandora, Sweden. One of her country’s many emergent dance music stars of the early 90s, Pandora made her debut in 1993 with ‘Trust Me’. The single, which featured a rap section provided by friend and colleague K-Slim, immediately catapulted her to the top of domestic dance charts and also created a strong impression throughout mainland Europe. While many similar female dance singers have simply served as a focal point for backroom mixers, Pandora - whose resemblance to Marilyn Monroe has been continually remarked upon - proved herself very much a creative presence with the release of her accompanying debut album. One Of A Kind featured several noted Swedish producers, including Dr Maxx Family, Sir Martin and T:O:E:C.
