About Oscar Herrera

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My earliest musical memory is hearing the West Side Story movie soundtrack. It came out the same year I was born. Perhaps this was the beginning of my love of theatrical music. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Father Whiskey” Inspired by Brechtian German theater, I wrote this song when I was in my early 20s. What makes this track extra special is that it was arranged by Alex Lacamoire, musical director of Hamilton, In The Heights and other great works. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Playing at the first Projekt Fest as lead singer for Black Tape For A Blue Girl. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? There are still many things. I would love to perform at a Tiny Desk Concert. Create some music videos for my music and tour the world.
