About Opus Anthem

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Getting my first guitar at age 10. I remember receiving it as a gift near my birthday and how excited I was when I got it. It was a junior sized acoustic and in retrospect the fretboard action was terrible, but it got me going for a couple of years. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? MUTEMATH, MuteMath Tears for Fears, Songs from the Big Chair The Cure, Disintegration 2010 Remaster Songs from the Big Chair: My first album and introduction to new wave/pop rock. Disintegration: The sonic depth and emotional pull within this is incredible. MuteMath: Energy and musicianship is exceptional; each note played like it's their last one. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Turning” The Opus Anthem song Turning began as something completely different. Its inception predates Opus Anthem and it was a B-side/experimental work to other songs written at the time. The music took on a new life when new lyrics were written for it. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Completing and releasing Opus Anthem's debut full length album Unwinding Time. Although it was emotionally demanding to both write and produce, I am pleased with this work and its use of mixed time signatures and complex arrangements. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Some of my best music memories are with songs I felt I could connect with. I would love to produce an album that connects and relates well with listeners, musically and lyrically; one that an audience is really drawn to listen to over and over again.
