On are a duo consisting of American drummer, percussionist, and electronics producer Steven Hess and French pianist, composer, arranger, and electro-acoustic producer Sylvain Chaveau. Despite being solo artists with an impressive range of credits and releases between them, they formed On with the expressed idea of composing pieces and working with a third collaborator. Their 2004 debut, Your Naked Ghost Comes Back at Night, was remixed -- post recording -- by Helge Sten (aka Deathprod). They followed it in 2007 with Second Souffle featuring French composer, pianist, and sound engineer Pierre-Yves Macé. In 2010, the duo issued Something That Has Form and Something That Does Not, with noted Austrian guitarist/soundscape creator Christian Fennesz as their collaborator. ~ Thom Jurek
