About Nineteen Wheels

The heartland rock unit Nineteen Wheels formed in East Lansing, MI, in 1994 from the remnants of a number of local groups: vocalist Chris Johnston and guitarist Scott Owens originated in the Hannibals, bassist Tim Marzorati was a former member of YMI, and drummer Greg Williams played in Gone Dog. After issuing an independently released EP titled The Tempermill Recordings, the quartet signed to the AWARE label, which issued Nineteen Wheels' full-length bow, Six Ways From Sunday, in 1997. ~ Mark Donkers
