About Nicolás Pasquet
Uruguayan conductor Nicolás Pasquet traveled to Germany to continue his musical education and has stayed on in Europe, leading various ensembles in an unusually varied career. In 1987 he took his first prize at the International Conducting Competition in Besançon, France. That led to several conducting posts and international tour appearances with German orchestras. Those tours left Pasquet with a lifelong enthusiasm for international musical education. Pasquet became conductor of the Pécs Symphony Orchestra in Hungary in 1993 and he championed and recorded the music of Hungarian composers. He moved to the Neubrandenburg Philharmonic Orchestra in 1996 and later conducted the Coburg State Theater Association in Bavaria. Pasquet has also conducted a few state youth orchestras in Germany. ~ James Manheim
