I remember hearing ‘The Brand New Heavies - You’ve Got A Friend’ on the radio on a coach when I was at nursery, coming back from a trip. I couldn’t find it for years after that, but when I did, it took me right back. That song means a lot to me! What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Betty Carter, Inside Betty Carter Janelle Monáe, The ArchAndroid Yazmin Lacey, Voice Notes My uncle in NYC gave me 'The ArchAndroid' on CD and it changed my life - It will always be an influence! 'Voice Notes' really encapsulates the experience of being a modern Black British Woman. 'Inside Betty Carter' is flawless, timeless, emotional! Hearing Clara Amfo announce me as the winner of the Youth Music 'Original Track Award (Solo) sponsored by Levi's' for 'Strange Love' in October 2023. I couldn't believe I! I was burnt-out & considering quitting but this validation helped me push on! Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? There are so many things on my list, but after selling out The Liverpool Philharmonic Music Room 75 years on from Billie Holiday selling out Carnegie Hall, I believe that one day, I will sell out Carnegie Hall! Call me delusional, but I will do it!
