In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I began taking piano lessons when I was around 9 or 10. My teacher at the time showed me what I believe to this day the important piece of musical knowledge: the basics. Chords, scales, & a few simple, but powerful songs. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Erykah Badu, Baduizm Nina Simone, Pastel Blues The Black Keys, Brothers These albums I feel represent me in many different periods of my life. Brothers comes from my childhood, I grew up listening to this wonderful album, and Pastel Blues & Baduizm, are very much my current tastes and what I find intriguing in music. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Word Up!” The entire process of making this song was so fun and special to me. I remember being with my friends Mason and Tyler as they wrote and recorded their spectacular parts for the song. Lots of laughs and cheers of excitement were had for this song. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? In 2022, I was invited to perform live alongside Joshua Lanuarii & MouSa at a festival called Floralia at Connecticut College. That was one of my bestest dreams that came true that day. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I would love to be able to work with more well-known artists in the future, and to perform live come more.
