In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Listening to music at my grandma's house. It was built before the Civil War. It was music I associated with her house—classic country music—and what I would later discover had a lasting impression in how I approach songwriting and arrangements. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Beck, Sea Change The Jayhawks, Hollywood Town Hall Willie Nelson, Red Headed Stranger I was raised on Willie Nelson. His voice, his vocal phrasing, the tone of his guitar—the whole of Willie—is medicine for me. His music and ways ground me like no other artist can. Jayhawks and Beck are simply masters of their craft, as well. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Old Enough To Know You Never Know” I'm not sure why, but this song is one I would consider one of my favorites that I have written. From start to finish, it takes me on a familiar journey both lyrically and in the instrumental arrangement. They are very closely related. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Having the opportunity to make records and perform with my musical family. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? It would be nice to take Music These Days on the road.
