About MultiPiano Ensemble

The MultiPiano Ensemble is among the few groups worldwide devoted to music for multiple pianos or to music for one piano with multiple players. The ensemble has substantially expanded the repertory for multiple pianists both through arrangements and commissions. It gave the first professional performance of Mendelssohn’s Duo concertant: Variations on Weber's "Preciosa" for two pianos and orchestra, and premiered Frank Martin’s Petite symphonie concertante for three pianos and two string orchestras. The ensemble has also commissioned concertos from composers Aryeh Levanon and Oded Zehavi. The MultiPiano Ensemble has made several recordings, beginning in 2017 with an album devoted to concertos by Poulenc, Shostakovich, Frank Martin, and Aryeh Levanon, with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. The group returned in 2021 on the Hyperion label, joining the English Chamber Orchestra on a collection of Mozart's complete concertos for multiple pianists.
