About Mrs. Greenbird
German folk-pop duo Mrs. Greenbird came to prominence after winning the reality TV talent contest The X Factor in 2012. Formed in 2006, Mrs. Greenbird features singer/songwriter Sarah Nücken and guitarist/vocalist Steffen Brückner. Both had previous experience singing in their church choirs, and Brückner was even a worship leader in his church in Cologne. The two met while appearing at local folk clubs, and in time became a duo on-stage and off. Mrs. Greenbird played the folk circuit in Germany and opened for American actor and musician Tim Robbins before they were selected for The X Factor, where they performed songs by such artists as Radiohead, the Swell Season, and Alanis Morissette. In late 2012, Mrs. Greenbird released their self-titled debut album on Columbia; the album spent 23 weeks on the German charts, eventually rising to number one, while the album peaked at number two in Austria and number nine is Switzerland. A live album followed in 2013. ~ Matt Collar
