About Mobina Galore

The aggressively charged power punk of Canadian duo Mobina Galore channels the sound of Against Me! and fellow Canadians Propaghandi. The band's explosive punk first found its audience with the release of their 2014 debut, Cities Away. Formed in Winnipeg, Manitoba, in 2011 by Jenna Priestner (guitar/vocals) and Marcia Hanson (drums/vocals), Mobina Galore brought together their love of angsty punk with their own DIY attitude. The pair quickly became regulars of the underground Canadian punk scene before self-releasing their debut EP, Skeletons, in 2012. Their debut album, Cities Away, followed two years later after being recorded at the Private Ear Studios -- a studio used by the likes of Comeback Kid and Propaghandi -- with John Paul Peters. Touring continued across Canada and the U.S. before the duo inked a deal with Gunner Records in Europe and New Damage in the U.S. The Singles & B-sides EP appeared at the end of 2016, followed by Mobina Galore's sophomore album, Feeling Disconnected, at the beginning of 2017. The group headed to Europe and the U.K. to play dates with Against Me! as well as numerous headline shows before rounding out the year supporting Off with Their Heads. The duo delivered the first fruits of their third album in mid-2019 with the release of the single "Escape Plan." The raucous punk number -- which had originally started out as an acoustic jam -- signaled the feel of the Don't Worry LP, which was issued a few months later. ~ Rich Wilson
