About Miguel Atwood-Ferguson

Based in Los Angeles, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson is a multi-instrumentalist, arranger, composer, producer, conductor, DJ, and educator who has worked with countless singers, musicians, rappers, and ensembles spanning nearly every genre of music. He has contributed to hundreds of recordings and soundtracks, including albums by Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Mary J. Blige, Makaya McCraven, and many Los Angeles-based artists including Flying Lotus, Thundercat and Dwight Trible. Additionally, he has backed major performers including Rihanna, Christina Aguilera, Lady Gaga, and Hall & Oates on television. His long-standing collaborative association with percussionist/electronicist/producer Carlos Niño produced four albums by the intergenerational creative music ensemble Build an Ark, and 2007's duo project Fill the Heart Shaped Cup. The pair improvised and recorded Chicago Waves live at International Anthem's headquarters in 2021. In 2023, Atwood-Ferguson released his debut solo album, Jardin's Mystique, Vol. 1, comprising 52 tracks spread across three discs.
