The solo project of Sarah Shook, Mightmare firmly diverges from Sarah Shook & the Disarmers' merger of vintage outlaw and alt-country. While the twang in their voice remained, Mightmare instead veered into dingy indie rock and even sleek electronics on the project's very personal 2022 debut, the self-produced Cruel Liars.
