About Michelle Nicastro

Actress/singer Michelle Nicastro was born in 1960 in Washington D.C. Her best known screen work is as an off-screen singer, providing the voices of Princess Odette in The Swan Princess and the singing voice of Callisto for the episode "The Bitter Suite" in the series Xena: Warrior Princess. Her credits include some serious theater work, as well -- among her earliest credits was her portrayal of Ariadne in Merlin at the Mark Hellinger Theatre in New York in 1983, and she was later the first Eponine in the second national tour of Les Miserables, in 1988. As an actress, her work has been mostly on the small-screen -- she has had guest starring roles in Airwolf and Knight Rider, and played a small part on Full House, and was Snow White in the "Grimmworld" episode of Coach. On daytime television, she also had roles on Santa Barbara and Days of Our Lives in the 1980s. Nicastro's big-screen credits include roles in Body Rock (1984) andBad Guys (1986), but far and away her biggest movie role to date was a small part in When Harry Met Sally (1989), as Billy Crystal's college girlfriend. As a recording artist, Nicastro has been most visible on the Varese Sarabande label, through which she has released three albums: Toonful (1993), Reel Imagination (1994), and Toonful, Too (1995), all devoted to songs from movies (the "Toonful" albums focused on, naturally, animated film scores), and On My Own (1997), which focused on more diverse pop style material. ~ Bruce Eder
