About Michael Lee

Texas singer-guitarist Michael Lee is a blues-, soul-, and country-influenced performer who came to wide recognition as contestant on The Voice in 2018. Following his time on The Voice he issued the singles "Here I Am" and "Heart of Stone." Born Bedford, Texas, Lee grew up in Fort Worth where his parents introduced him to the blues at a young age. He first began playing guitar when he was 12, and by his teens was digging deep into albums by Stevie Ray Vaughan, B.B. King, Buddy Guy, and Delbert McClinton. A regular performer in the Dallas/Fort Worth area he issued an independent album in 2014. In 2018 he successfully auditioned for NBC's talent contest The Voice where he competed for coach Blake Shelton's team. Although he was eliminated during the first round, he gained audience support performing rousing takes of the Allman Brothers' "Whipping Post" and the Bonnie Raitt/John Hiatt song "Thing Called Love." After leaving The Voice, Lee toured with the legacy B.B. King Blues Band. He also signed with Ruf Records and issued the singles "Here I Am" and "Heart of Stone." ~ Matt Collar
